My name is Greg, welcome to my temporary portfolio site. A fully
redesigned site is coming soon. In the meantime, below are a list
of projects that I have worked on, with descriptions of what the
project was about, what my role was, and links to either the live
project or comps of the pages. PLEASE NOTE: Work

A little bit about me: I am a Senior Website Designer for a major
Interactive Agency in Chicago. Some of the work shown here was done
while I have been employed there. I love design - websites, furniture,
cars, electronics, clothing, etc. Other things I enjoy or do for
fun/inspiration are (in no particular order): listen to/play music
(guitar), draw, watch movies, study martial arts, cook, read, spend
time with my girlfriend, play volleyball, and hang with my friends.
I am always interested in new opportunities that can pose a challenge
for me and make me work harder to rise to the occasion and expand my skills.

Albertsons Site Refresh
My Role - Lead Designer
Scope of Project - Provide an updated look to numerous brands
under the Supervalu flag, starting with Albertsons
This site design will be rolling out in select markets in August,
then will be implemented across numerous brands within the next
6 months. A major goal of the refresh was to make food the focus
and create a premium look and feel for the brand

Albertsons Site Refresh - Fresh Ideas
My Role - Lead Designer
Scope of Project - Create engaging flash pieces to promote various
theme ideas, recipes, and health/diet information to the user
The idea behind Fresh Ideas is to give the user engaging food
related content on the homepage of the relaunched sites that can
drive them to recipes, provide food related information, and be
updated frequently to keep giving the homepage a fresh look.

Albertsons Email Program
My Role - Art Direction
Scope of Project - Provide guidance and direction to the designer
on the project, present concepts to client on a monthly basis
Our email program with Supervalu covers 3 of their brands (Albertsons,
Jewel-Osco, and Acme Markets). Concepts are done for 1 brand (Albertsons)
and verisoned out for the others (logo and copy changes, content
is almost always consistent). These emails have a main focus on
unique and engagnig recipes and photography while driving the user
to a few unique proomotions as well.

Ducklings Blog Design
My Role - Lead Designer
Scope of Project - Create an online home for a quarterly magazine
for parents
We were tasked with finding a way to get existing magazine content
online, but keep the site fresh and frequently updated with a a
limited supply of back content and no new content being produced.
A blog solution was explored to allow us to mine the back content
and release it in very small, frequent bits to the audience

Kryptonite Lock
My Role - Design
Scope of Project - To create a new online presence for Kryptonite
Lock.
This design was to focus on products, but still play up the lifestyle
aspect associated with each target audience.
This example shows the textures and elements associated with mountain
bikers.

Massachusetts General Hospital for Children
My Role - Partial Strategy and Architecture, Design
Scope of Project - Complete rethinking of the children's hospital
website.
These designs were first round concepts to help recreate
the website as a highly functional user experience that conveys
the expertise, emotion, and personal care that sets MassGeneral
apart from other childrens' hospitals.

Gerber Graduates
My Role - Partial Strategy, Full Design
Scope of Project - Create an online presence for a pitch meeting.
These designs were done on a short timeline (3 days) to give examples
of what a Gerber Graduates microsite homepage could look like, as
well as to give an example of rich media advertising for the campaign.

Seadoo Sportboats
My Role - Partial Strategy, Full Design
Scope of Project - Create an online presence for a pitch meeting.
These designs were done to create an online catalog site to support
the traditional creative in the pitch. The goal was to concept an
interactive site with a wealth of features and products.

Seadoo Lifestyle Site
My Role - Partial Strategy, Full Design
Scope of Project - Create a lifestyle themed site for a pitch
meeting.
These designs were done as an extension to the Seadoo Sportsboat
site concept. We wanted to create a lifestlye "destination"
site for Seadoo owners and potential owners to help build a grassroots
buzz about the brand and build excitement within the boating community.

Scope of Project - Create a sweepstakes registration page for
an online contest promotion.
This design needed to fit into the existing look and feel of the
USG site.

Schlage Lock - Residential
and Commercial sites temporary redesign
My Role - Design
Scope of Project - Create new "skins" for existing sites
using new corporate ID and branding.
These designs were done as a "band-aid" fix to update
the sites with new branding standards until a full site redeisgn
can be done.

Scope of Project - Full redesign of the Canadian site to family
with the look of the US site.
Site traffic went up in record numbers after the site was launched.

My Role - Design
Scope of Project - Redesign the site for a business consulting firm
I worked on this site for a friend's company. At the time, their site had not been touched for about 8 years from a design standpoint, so the goal was
to modernize the look and give them more credibility with a professional feel to it.

This site was designed to showcase Core Design Group's expertise

Ad Shapers Sales Tool
My Role - Storyboards, UI Design, Flash Animation/Programming,
Audio Editing
Scope of Project - Create an online sales tool for a search engine
marketing firm.
I was given a script, voice over and stock photos. From there
I was free to design and produce the piece (client review was part
of the process). I animated and built everything in the piece.

Scope of Project - Create a banner ad suite to support an online
contest and drive traffic to the contest microsite.
These banners were intended to build excitement about winning
a trip to Miami

Scope of Project - Create rich media banners to drive contest
registrations and microsite visits
Both of these examples are demos that were put together to show
the client prior to final approval - they may function slightly
differently from the way the actual live files did.
